Anxiety

Anxiety can be a healthy tool, and sometimes it gets to be out of control. When you can’t quiet the worry, stop asking “what if”, and struggle to stay present, anxiety is taking over.

We all have different experiences and backgrounds that contribute to our views of anxiety. Some common symptoms you might see are:

  • Heightened fear, worry, and nervousness. This can be tied to events, or seemingly random and for no reason.

  • Increased heart rate, sweating, jittery. You might feel like you just ran a race, but really you’re just sitting in the office or class.

  • Trouble sleeping. Even though you have great sleep habits (or maybe those need some work too), you find yourself waking up in the middle of the night after trying really hard to fall asleep.

  • Running through “what if” scenarios. No matter how many times you’ve tried to tell yourself not to worry, you keep coming back to scenarios of what could happen in your head.

Anxiety can frequently occur with other mental health concerns. This list is not exhaustive, and scratches the surface at the depth of anxiety. Contact us to start exploring ways to improve your life.
