Therapist & Owner
Machaela Rausch, MS, LPC, NCC (she/her)
Hi there! I’m Machaela, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in St. Louis, Missouri. I’m passionate about creating a space where you can feel heard, supported, and understood—without judgment. My goal is to guide you toward the person you want to be, whether you're navigating eating disorders, relationship challenges, identity, or any other area where you’re seeking healing and growth.
With a Master's in Clinical Counseling, I bring both professional training and years of experience to our work together. I’ve had the privilege of serving as the Assistant Director of Mental Health and Wellness for The University of Tennessee Athletics, and after that, I transitioned back into private practice to offer more personalized care to individuals and families in a setting that feels comfortable and real.
I understand that therapy is a deeply personal journey, and I focus on creating a safe, down-to-earth environment that fosters trust and open communication. As a military child, I have had the privilege of living in a lot of areas. Whether you're in St. Louis, Kansas City, Knoxville, Nashville, or Columbia, I’m familiar with the area and love connecting with clients about what makes your community unique and what you love about it!
My Approach
I use scientifically-backed methods like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Relational Cultural Therapy, Gottman Method, and Family-Based Therapy (FBT). My belief is simple: You already have all the parts within you to be the person you want to be. I’m here to help you navigate the world, find those parts, and empower you to live authentically.
Whether we’re working through eating disorders, body image concerns, self-esteem struggles, or navigating couples therapy (using the Gottman Method), my goal is to meet you where you are and help you take the next step toward healing. I also offer specialized family therapy for eating disorders and parents of children with autism—because I believe the support of family is essential in the healing process.
When I'm Not Working...
I love spending time with my friends! Friendships play such a vital role in our well-being, and I’m lucky to have friends all over the world. I enjoy traveling, playing a round of golf, or attending sporting events with them.
While I may not be the completely obsessed dog lady, I’m probably a little close. I have three Siberian Huskies (don’t worry, it’s not as loud as you might think) who keep me company in my free time.
As cliché as it sounds, my biggest joy is helping you discover the path to healing that’s right for you. I am fortunate to say I love what I do and my clients frequently comment on this!
If you’re wondering whether I’m the right fit, don’t hesitate to reach out! My goal is to help you find the support you need. Let’s start this journey together!
